Lera Niemackl is an Austin-based biohacker and artist, holding a BFA in Visual Art. She is part of The Open Discovery Institute, focusing on genetic engineering, cell culture, and biomaterials, with a commitment to open source information. In 2022, she co-founded Tyrell Gallery in North Austin, which showcases art exploring science and biology.
