Nimrod Astarhan is an artist, technologist, and educator. Working in sculpture and digital media, they exhibited and initiated group projects in Europe, the US, and the International Space Station. Recent showings include the Gwangju Biennial Pavilion Project, Ars Electronica, and The Ammerman Center Biennial Symposium on Arts & Technology. Last year, they received grants and awards from the Municipal Arts League of Chicago and the Arts, Science + Culture Initiative at the University of Chicago, among others. Nimrod holds an MFA in Art and Technology Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. They taught digital art, code, hardware, and critical theory at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, China Academy of Art, and Shenkar College of Engineering Art, and Design.

Nimrod Astarhan is an artist, technologist, and lecturer. He teaches ‘Art in the Digital Age’ in the Multidisciplinary Art School at Shenkar College of Engineering, Art and Design. He also co-teaches the specialized trans-disciplinary course “Living Systems” across the design, art and engineering faculties. As an artist working in the fields of Sculpture and Digital Media he exhibited and initiated group projects in Israel, Germany and Belgium and worked on commissioned projects for museums, international festivals and biennales.
Recent exhibition venues include The Israeli Center for Digital Arts, Die Digitale Düsseldorf and the 8th Conference on Computation, Communication, Aesthetics & X. Nimrod is a recipient of the Rabinovitch Foundation for the Arts grant. Trained as a software engineer, he gained over 8 years of experience in the software industry, leading startup teams and architecting solutions before committing to his artistic practice.
