Abstract:
Myths, long regarded as symbolic narratives that express humanity’s aspirations (Campbell, 1968), have often inspired dream of transcending physical, mental and societal constraints. Once confined to the realm of supernatural, such aspirations have now become reality through the latest intelligent machines. This paper explores how artists use A.I. and immersive technology to bridge myth, art, cosmology – exemplified by Moon & Jeon and Emo de Medeiors – while also reclaiming cultural heritage through digital decolonization, as seen in the works of Nora Al-Badri and Morehshin Allahyari. By leveraging technology, these artists reinterpret and challenge colonial narratives, ensuring that myths remain dynamic in the pervasive digital age.
