Aline Biasutto’s work questions the politics of images: their potential of resistance to representation and interpretation. Her pictures are a research on the limits of the visible; they are close to bursting or near silence. Aline Biasutto has a cross-practiced between the humanities and literature, and she draws poetic connections between the representation from the language to picture, border issues and a research of self-determination, whether on an individual level or in a wider political context. Her body of work covers a wide range of media, from video, photography, and drawings to texts.
Aline Biasutto was born in 1980 and lives and works in Paris. She has recently exhibited at the Exhibitions Pavilion, Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto, at the Creative Media Center, Hong Kong, at Arteppes, Contemporary Art Space, Annecy, the art center le LAIT in Albi, La Conservera, Ceuti, La Brasserie Centre d’art, Foncquevillers, Galerie Michel Journiac, Paris, and at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.
Her videos have been screened in Torrance art Museum, Los Angeles, and several festivals across Europe and India and broadcasted on French TV.
