Eduardo Reck Miranda, composer and expert on electronic music, was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, in 1963. He graduated in Data Processing Technology at the Vale do Rio dos Sinos University, Brazil in 1985. In 1991 he attained a Master degree in Music Technology at the University of York, England and in 1994 Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and Music at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
