At approximately 522 meters long, Somorrostro beach is located between the Gas breakwater and the Marina pier.

It can be said that, on the coast of the city, this beach embodies, among other values, the recovery of historical memory. Not many years ago, this stretch of coastline, along with part of Barceloneta beach and the current beaches of Nova Icària and Bogatell, hosted the Somorrostro slum, where about 15,000 people lived in very precarious conditions.

Somorrostro beach is currently one of the most emblematic beaches in the city.
