Be captivated by an explosive fusion of breathtaking audio-visual art, lasers and technology at Double Vision, as part of ISEA 2024 EVERYWHEN. The opening night of Double Vision sees acts by New Zealand-based sound artist mHz and Tamil-Australian audio-visual artist Xenosine.

Under the moniker Xenosine, Vijay Thillaimuthu presents Tesseract, a vision for the superimposition of lasers and video projections as controlled by sound. The same voltage that is amplified as sound, also deflects laser light into visible patterns and creates video projections. Carl Sagan famously used the Tesseract to discuss quantum theory. We use complex power and communication networks everyday without understanding the underlying processes in totality. Tesseract provokes a questioning of the mechanisms of perception, existence and knowledge. The work interacts between two dimensional and three dimensional space.

Double Vision is supported by Live Music Australia – an Australian Government initiative
