Artist Statement:

This film describes a crossing of the Grand Canal in Venice. During the voyage, objects related ééto the work of the painter Duchamp begin to appear. The disguises of the images lead us to a semiotic reading of their content. The film ends with an image of the painting, L’origine du Monde by Courbet, installed in place of the woman in Duchamp’s last work. During the film, the iconic objects therefore define the transformation from the Grand Canal to an installation to be viewed. The film makes a pastiche of creation by establishing a link between the centuries and culture, mixing the imaginary with the everyday.
