Anne Walton is an Australian video/performance artist and writer, on and off line. She has been performing live works in shop windows since 1997, occupying empty shops or street front galleries in Adelaide, Sydney, Glasgow and Helsinki. She also makes videos for more conventional screening. Her approach is mostly improvisational with an emphasis on responding to a given time and place. In 1998-2000 she was awarded an Anne 8 Gordon Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarship to do overseas postgraduate research. She received a Master of Fine Art from Glasgow School of Art in 2000.
