  • Annie Knepler is a teacher and editor in Chicago. For the past three years she has worked with the Neighborhood Writing Alliance (NWA) as the Associate Editor and Publications Coordinator for the Journal of Ordinary Thought. Through the Writing Alliance, she also leads an adult writing group on the Near West Side of Chicago. She is a lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her current course, “Exploring Home and Community: the Intersection of Public and Private Space,” focuses on issues of housing in and around the Chicago area. She has a Master of English from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She is a co-editor of Crossing Cultures, an anthology of readings about cultural encounters and identity.
