Christina McPhee interprets the remote landscape in multimedia streams. She creates topologic site explorations in layered suites involving on-site photographs, video, drawing, and environmental sound. Forthcoming in 2009 are Tesserae of Venus, a science fiction multimedia series on carbonsaturated energy landscapes, opens at Silverman Gallery, San Francisco, in late October 2009; Pharmakon LIbrary Folio 2 is in preparation for New York Art Book Fair at PS1 in 2009. Her films have screened at Videoformes 2009 (ClermontFerrand), San Francisco Cinematheque at Yerba Buena, National Center for Contemporary Art Moscow, LA Film Forum at the Egyptian Theatre Hollywood, Itau Cultural Center Bela Horizonte and Pacific Film Archive, Berkeley. She teaches in the MFA programme in digital arts and new media at UC-Santa Cruz.
