    Ubbe Eert “Ub” Iwerks, (1901-1971) was an American animator, cartoonist, character designer, inventor, and special effectstechnician, who created Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Mickey Mouse. The works Iwerks produced alongside Disney went on to win numerous awards, including multiple Academy Awards. Animator Chuck Jones, who worked for Iwerks’ studio in his youth, said “Iwerks is Screwy [Skrewi] spelled backwards.” [source Wikipedia].
