Jean-Guy Boisvert

Jean-Guy Boisvert is a graduate of the Conservatoire de musique du Quebec and London’s Guildhall School of Music. He holds a doctorate in contemporary music performance from the Universite de Montreal. In 1989, the clarinetist won the Gertrude Gendreau Prize, awarded to the most promising young artist. Particulary interested in twentieth century music, he regularly performs premieres of Canadian and European works. For the 1995-96 academic year he is teaching clarinet and saxophone at Memorial University in Newfoundland.
