Jean Routhier sonic works embrace the fleeting silences, the physical, as well as, emotional reactions to listening. His practice can materialize as: soundwalks, altered field recordings, acousmatic works, performances, installations, and radio broadcasts. Routhier’s productions challenge our common expectations of what can be interpreted as musical. His audio sculpture Une Suite de Temps-morts: iona, is a scheduled ISEA2015 partner event called Oscillations to be held on August 16 at 8PM in Charleson Park. Recent projects include: The Voyage, a performance with Carey Dodge in Vancouver, and Une Suite de Temps-morts: N_R.Y, an installation at Open Space Gallery in Victoria, BC, Canada.
