    Nurit Bar-Shai is an interdisciplinary artist who works at the intersection of art, science and technology. She composes video, live telematic installations and conducts experiments with living organisms through creative collaborative inquiry.
    Her work has been exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum, the OK-Center in Linz, The National Art Center in Tokyo, SESI Gallery in Sao Paulo, the Science Gallery at Trinity College, Dublin, The State Museum of Contemporary Art, Thessaloniki, the Bloomfield science Museum, Jerusalem and The Center for Digital Art in Israel. Bar-Shai received a Prix Ars Electronica 2007 Honorary Mention, the 11th Japan Media Arts Festival Jury Award, ETC Finishing Funds award, funded by NYSCA, ARTIS – Contemporary Israeli Art Fund Grant. Turbulence.org commissioned her work, with funds from The Greenwall Foundation and with funds from The Jerome Foundation, included in the collection of the Rose Goldsen Archive of New Media Art at Cornel University. Her work is featured in the book BioDesign: Nature + Science + Creativity by William Myers, published by The Museum of Modern Art and in Art News, Wall Street Journal, NYTimes, Weird UK, Dazed and Confused, and 3SAT TV documentary. Bar-Shai is the co-founder and Arts and Culture Program Director at Genspace NYC, a citizen science bio-tech community lab in Brooklyn, NY.
