    Özge Samanci, media artist and graphic novelist, is an associate professor in Northwestern University’s School of Communication. Her interactive installations have been exhibited internationally, including Siggraph Art Gallery, FILE festival, Currents New Media, The Tech Museum of Innovation, WRO Media Art Biennial, Athens International Festival of Digital Arts and New Media, Piksel Electronic Arts Festival, ISEA among others. Her autobiographical graphic novel Dare to Disappoint (Farrar Straus Giroux, 2015) received international press attention and was positively reviewed in The New York Times, The Guardian, Slate along with many other media outlets. Dare to Disappoint has been translated into five languages. Her drawings appeared in The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, Slate Magazine, The Huffington Post, Airmail, Guernica, The Rumpus. In 2017, she received the Berlin Prize and she was the Holtzbrinck Visual Arts Fellow at the American Academy in Berlin.

    Ozge Samanci has an extensive background in comics and media arts. Her art installations have been exhibited in numerous venues internationally. Her autobiographical graphic novel Dare to Disappoint will be released by Farrar, Straus and Giroux in November 2015. Samanci is a member of Northwestern University’s radio/television/film faculty (USA).

    Ozge Samanci is an Assistant Professor in the Radio, Television and Film Department, Northwestern University, and a former Andrew Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in the Art Practice Department, University of California, Berkeley, USA. She has an extensive background in comics and media arts, and is a published comics artist. Her interactive-digital media installations and other collaborative works have been exhibited in numerous venues including Tech Museum San Jose, SIGGRAPH, Advances in Computer Entertainment (ACE), Tangible and Embedded Interaction (TEI), Eyedrum New Media Gallery and Sonic Generator Concert Series. She  holds a Ph.D. in Digital Media (School of Literature, Communication, and Culture, Georgia Institute of Technology), authored the book Animasyonun Onlenemez Yukselisi (The Irresistible Rise of Animation), published in Istanbul, and is currently working an autobiographical graphic novel, Dare to Disappoint, under contract.
