Sergio Barroso studied piano, organ and composition at the Havana National Conservatory, post-graduate studies in composition at the Prague Superior Academy of Music and computer music at CCRMA, Stanford University. He has worked extensively since 1969 in all electroacoustic music fields. His music is described as having a dramatic character with an emphasis on rhythm and colour.
