Yael Braha is a native of Italy. She studied Graphic Design at the European Institute of Design in Rome before she immigrated to the United States, where she obtained a Master of Fine Arts in Cinema at San Francisco State University. She is currently based in Canada. Yael is an interdisciplinary artist who combines traditional and non-traditional art practices. She has extensive experience in fine arts and digital fabrication processes (ceramics, metal fabrication, metal casting, electronics, mold making), filmmaking, creative direction, as well as teaching. Her artwork and installations have been shown both nationally and internationally over the past twenty years. As the daughter of refugees, the notion of knowledge–not belongings–is one of her most important life values that constantly pushes her to learn and experiment throughout her lifetime.
