Artist Statement:

Logod is a treatise about the essential form of the Universe, God’s logotype. Logod = (logos + god). Supposing that Man will create a virtual (digital) copy of our Universe, with a high realism, and will program the interaction of the events, using random concepts. It is a metaphor about Human’s attempt to reproduce and dominate Nature.

Quote from Vimeo:
Logod is a 5 min Computer Animation movie, written, directed and animated by Rodrigo in 1990. The movie is a pioneering digital animation, exploring an organic-geometric-abstract visual landscape. It deals with issues related to the unconscious, chaos theory, fractals, randomness, spirituality, and with the then emerging concept of cyberspace. The animation also explores gestural motion capture.

The movie was shown on several festivals including ISEA 1990, and Mensen & Potloden (Holland), WRO 90 (Polonia), SCAN+ (Australia), Riocine Festival, Video Fest 90 and Fotoptica 90 (Brazil).

The graphics were created on a Amiga 500 computer. The soundtrack was created by Ilan Gleiser, and the movie was edited by Felipe Sá. It had the editing facilities support of Anteve Productions (Sandra Kogut and Roberto Berliner). Voice by Alvino Mendes.
