    Byeongwon Ha, SK/USA, (University of South Carolina) an assistant professor in Media Arts in the School of Visual Art and Design at the University of South Carolina (Columbia). As a new media artist, he has been taking part in international conferences and festivals art such as CHI, SIGGRAPH Asia, ISEA, and ARTECH since 2012. His research traces a transition from analog media, including film, architecture, and video, to new media. Dr. Ha has published articles as an author in Leonardo Music Journal (MIT Press) and as a co-author in Leonardo (MIT Press)

    Byeongwon Ha is an assistant professor in the School of Visual Art and Design at the University of South Carolina. He is an art historian and an artist in the field of new media art. As an artist and a researcher, he took part in diverse international art conferences and festivals such as ISEA, SIGGRAPH Asia, IRCAM Forum, ARTECH, and the Summit on New Media Art Archiving. In 2019, he published two articles: “Nam June Paik’s Unpublished Korean Article and His Interactive Musique Concrète Projects” as an author in Leonardo Music Journal (MIT Press) and “Survey and Analysis of Interactive Art Documentation, 1979–2017” as a coauthor in Leonardo (MIT Press).

    Byeongwon Ha studied Film, Television and Multimedia from SungKyunKwan University, South Korea. After receiving his BFA, he created interactive media and experimental films in the graduate study of Media Art from Yonsei University, South Korea. With the thesis project award, he also received an MFA in Digital+Media from Rhode Island School of Design. After graduation, he studies indoor‑air‑quality‑mapping in digital media as a member of the Public Laboratory for Open Technology and in Science. Now he is pursuing his PhD degree, the Media, Art and Text program at Virginia Commonwealth University. Based on his academic experiences, he creates diverse algorithmic films and interactive installations.
