Rose Hocking is a Sunshine Coast artist based in Eumundi and has grown up surrounded by the arts. From an early age she was exposed to artistic and creative thinking and expression which greatly informed her artistic development. Rose’s artistic practice is constantly evolving and developing working with mediums of photography, design, installation, and interactive media. Her work is driven by a deep interest in nature and the environment and examining the connection and impact of humans in the natural world. She explores and seeks out these themes of environment, connection and reflection between humans and the environment with her works being primarily process driven and often informed through experimentation and the creative process. It is this process and experimentation with nature, especially water, that informs her practice. Rose completed her Bachelor of Photography with First Class Honours at Griffith University in 2020 and is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Visual Communication Design at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Rose’s work has been exhibited in group exhibitions both in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
