Artist Statement:

Andrea Cera is attempting to reduce the opposition between popular music and musique savante. Using PatchWork (a computer aided composition tool from IRCAM), he analyzed and processed several fragments from When I come around (Green Day) and Xtal (Aphex Twin). He then combined these objects in an hybrid, sometimes a monster according to the elements of his composition.
