George Legrady, U.S.A., is Professor of Electronic Media at the Merz Akademie in Stuttgart, Germany and in Conceptual Design at San Francisco State University. Recent upcoming exhibitions include a two-museum media exhibition at the National Gallery of Canada and the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography, and also in the digital media salon at the Kunsthalle in Bonn, Germany. Recent publications include the Artintact 3 CD-ROM published by ZKM, and the Centre Pompidou’s Realities of the Virtue! CD-ROM. During the past few years he received the New Voices, New Visions award from Voyager, a Computer Integrated Media Award from the Canada Council, and a National Endowment for the Arts Visual Fellowship.
ISEA 1995
George Legrady is Associate professor in Information Arts/ Conceptual Design at San Francisco State University. He has received awards from the NEA, Voyager/Interval Research and the Canada Council. Upcoming exhibitions of his interactive installations will take place at the Mcsarnok Museum (Budapest), the Biennale d’art contemporain de Lyon (France), and Photography After Photography (Munich).
ISEA1994
Born in Budapest in 1950, a Canadian citizen and a resident of California since 1981. Associate Professor in Information Arts at San Francisco State University, a program that integrates cultural theory and emerging technologies within the contexts of conceptual art and contemporary art practice. He is currently working on “Slippery Traces”, an interactive multimedia project that investigates the experience of “seeing” within the context of today’s vision tools, and the influence of their origins in medical and military technologies. His artworks have been exhibited in the US, Canada, France, Germany, Denmark, Mexico. During the fall 1994, Legrady will be a visiting faculty at the Budapest Art Academy.
