    Dr. Jill Scott is a media artist and an art and science writer and researcher. Currently, she co-directs the LASER Salon in Zurich for Leonardo Society USA. She is professor emerita from the University of the Arts (ZhdK) in Zürich and founded their Artists-in-Labs Program in 2000. Her own artwork spans 38 years of production about the human body, behavior and body politics, but in the last 16 years she has focused on creative media art experiments about neuroscience, ecology and sensory perception in collaboration with four departments at the University of Zurich.

    Her most recent artworks were about visual impairment and the evolution of vision. She has also published six books on art and science research including Artists-in-labs: Recomposing Art and Science (eds:Hediger, Scott 2016) and Transdiscourse 2 Turbulence and Reconstruction (ed:Scott 2015) both with de Gruyter press.

    Jill Scott is an Australian artist currently based in Germany and after working in the mediums of video and performance she began working with digital installations in the mid-80s and currently has the work Frontiers of Utopia in the exhibition that is part of V2 DEAF.

    Dr. Jill Scott is professor for Art and Science Research in the Institute Cultural Studies in the Arts, Zurich University of the Arts (ZhdK), Switzerland, Founder of the Artists-in-Labs
    Program and Vice Director of the Z-Node PHD program on art and science at the University of Plymouth, UK.

    Her recent publications include: Neuromedia: Art and Science Research with Esther Stöckli (2012), The Transdiscourse book series:Vol.1: Mediated Enviroments, (2011), Artists-in-labs: Networking in the Margins (2011) and Artists-inlabs: Processes of Inquiry (2006). All publications are with Springer Press. Her artwork spans 38 years of production about the human body, behaviour and body politics. In the last 10 years she has focused on creative media art experiments about neuroscience, ecology and sensory perception resulting in the construction of interactive mediated sculptures based on studies she has conducted in collaboration with the University of Zurich.

    Jill Scott is a professor for research in the Institute Cultural Studies in the Arts, at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZhdK) in Zürich and Co-Director of the Artists-in-Labs Program (a collaboration with the Ministry for Culture, Switzerland). She is also Vice Director of the Z-Node PHD program on art and science at the University of Plymouth, UK. Her recent publications include: Artists-in-labs Processes of Inquiry: 2006 Springer/Vienna/New York, and Coded Characters Hatje Cantz 2002, Ed. Marille Hahne. She has exhibited video artworks, conceptual performances and interactive environments in USA, Japan, Australia and Europe all based on the human body and the environment.

    Jill Scott, The Swiss Artistsinlabs Program, was born in 1952, in Melbourne, Australia and has been working and living in Switzerland since 2003. Currently she is Professor for Research in the Institute Cultural Studies in Art, Media and Design at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHDK) in Zürich and Co-Director of the Artists-in-Labs Program. She is also Vice Director of the Z-Node PHD program on art and science at the University of Plymouth, UK.

    Her recent publications include: Artists-in-labs Processes of Inquiry: 2006 Springer/Vienna/New York, and Coded Characters Hatje Cantz 2002, Ed. Marille Hahne. Her education includes: PhD, University of Wales (UK) MA USF, San Francisco, as well as a Degree in Education (Uni Melbourne) and a Degree in Art and Design (Victoria College of the Arts).

    Since 1975, she has exhibited many video artworks, conceptual performances and interactive environments in USA, Japan, Australia and Europe. Her most recent works involve Neuro-Media, interactive media and electronic sculptures based on studies she has conducted in Neuroscience, particularly in somatic response and artificial skin (e-skin from 2003) and in retinal neuro-morphology. Currently she is also artist-in-residence with the Stefan Neuhauss Neurobiology group: Institute for Zoology. University of Zurich)

    Jill Scott has a Degree in Film Art and Design and an Interdisciplinary Masters Degree. She has lectured in New Media at the University of New South Wales (Australia) and exhibited video installations in the USA, Europe and Japan. She is currently guest professor at the Art Academy in Saarbrucken (Germany).

    Dr. Jillian Scott was born in Melbourne Australia in 1952. 1974: Lecturer in Video. Cockpit Theatre, London. 1978-79: Acoustic instrument building and multi-track recording. 1975-78: Student assistent: San Francisco State University. Practical experience: Bay Area Video Coallition. 1982-85: Research: digital sound effects. First MacIntosh Computers-Mac Paint and Macwrite at the Alexander Mackey School of Art, International Slow-scan experiments, Fairlight Computer Music and Video Instruments, Band- The Dynabytes. 1979-82: Research: Analog Effects. Grass Valley Vision Switcher. Video editing at the Community editing facilities in Australia and in San Francisco. 1985-87: Research: Astronomy and Physics.Video paintbox- Harry, Digital Compositing and basics in 3D Computer Animation, – Australian Video Festival, Australian Film and Television School and the Video Paint Brush Company. 1989: Research: Interactive computer-laserdisc technologies and human cognition. In New York worked as Commercial Painbox-Harry editor at Edital USA. 1990: First computer-based interactive work – MACHINEDREAMS, Sydney Biennale Worked with Simon Veetch, an innovative security camera detector called The 3 DIS System, PC based Dos, security cameras. 1990-91: Started a Computer Animation Company called Lumagraph-Sydney. (Lumina, and an animation program called Cystal from Time Arts using Targa Graphic Cards).
